Welcome back to my blog. Today during maths, my maths teacher Mrs Lee, gave us a fun task to do. She told us to create out own patterns! Now this might not sound maths related. but is actually is. We were told to do two different patterns, A symbol pattern and a Number pattern. A symbol pattern is with shapes and pictures, and number patterns is with..numbers! For example:

Giraffes!!!
Welcome back to my blog. This week in reading, we got to pick from more "National Geographic"! We were given 7 books and we had a choice to pick which book we got to read! I chose.... GIRAFFES! I barely knew anything about them except that they are the tallest animal in the world! So learning about them was really fun! Me and my BFF Sapphire helped each other with the tasks, so go check out what she has made! She deserves some credit! We had to do 3 create tasks. Answer questions and you got to pick the other two. I chose write a narrative about an encounter with a giraffe and, Giraffe physical features that help them survive!I hope you enjoy this, and hopefully you learn something new.ENJOY!
Encounter with a Giraffe.
Isla loves animals. She likes studying them and learning new things about them. Her favourite animal would have to be a Giraffe. She is always looking for them if she's in Africa, but she has never had an encounter with one. She has seen one from far away but her camera couldn't capture the shot.
One Sunday morning in Africa, Isla went to go take some photos of animals that were nearby. She saw 7 elephants, 28 zebras, 4 lions, 2 spotted hyenas and 5 ostriches. Luckily for her she got all of her photos clear and one of every animal! She was still disappointed she didn't see a giraffe.
That's when she heard a rustle in the trees. She turned her cheek and there stood a herd of giraffes. Isla was full of joy and excitement but she couldn't scream or they would be frightened away. “Ah, there we go,West African giraffe. Lucky to see em” the African guide whispered to Isla. Isla’s smile got bigger. “Can I go up close to one?” asked Isla. “Eh, you might as well, but be very quiet and slow and careful. They can hear ya know” replied the African guide. Isla’s grin got even bigger and she looked so happy the guide smiled! Isla slowly hopped out of the car. Her camera was in her hand ready to capture the shot. The giraffe looked above Isla but luckily she was too short. She was crawling on her knees. But then she saw a tight thick rope tied around the leg of the giraffe. Then she slowly turned her head. The giraffe was completely tied down. Isla’s smile was wiped right off her face. She got out her pocket knife. The giraffe moaned. *Slice. Krrrrrrrrr*. The ropes were off the legs of the giraffe. *Quick take the photo before it runs away* she thought. *CLICK* The photo was taken.
As soon as the giraffe heard the click, he or she ran away. Isla was full of delight. She ran back to the car. “Ye get any good photos?” asked the guide. Isla looked at her camera. “Yes, I did. It's..perfect” She whispered.

Different types of Media!
Hello guys!
Today we had to do a create task for cycbersmarts. The task was to find different types of media. Media is a shared platform where information is easily accessed in a variety of forms. Example: The web, the news , internet, books.Once we thought of some media we had to make a google slide or google drawing with all the media we thought of in the post. I chose a google drawing and thought of 9 media plat forms. This was really fun to do and I hope you enjoy.

Recycle!
Welcome back to me blog. Today and Monday me and Sadie (which was my partner) made TWO Recycle DLO's (Digital learning object). One was a poster and the other a animation. On the animation I did more of the work because in the morning Sadie does gardening. But she helped with the poster. Madds was also in our group but she had a horrid head ache so she couldn't help.Anyway.... . For our poster we did 9 facts. 9 Facts to help save our school..or if you go to a different school..your school! In our animations, someone throws some rubbish on the ground and stomps on it. But then a little boy comes up and tells the big person to stop littering. It works and in the end everyone is happy! This was really fun and I hope you enjoy!!!
Poster
Animation
Do you know any other facts about littering or where to put your rubbish? If you do comment! I also love feedback good or bad. This was so fun and hope you learnt something new! See you next blog post.

Pigeon Disguise
Sorry I haven't posted since the 26th of August. I was not at school because I had a funny tummy. I'm not the best swimmer so I got heaps of chlorine in my mouth.Anyway.... In this post I will be showing you what I did for reading this week! If you wanted to do some reading you have to pick a create task to do out of 9 create tasks. I picked the book "Dont let the pigeon drive the bus!" and the create task I picked was " Create a disguise for the pigeon so he can drive the bus!" I chose to do this on paper because for me it would be easier. This was a really fun activity and I hope you like my drawing! ENJOY!!!!!
Have you ever read "Dont let the pigeon drive the bus!"? If you have comment what you favourite part of the story was. My favourite part is when he says "LETS PLAY DRIVE THE BUS! I will go first 😎" I hope you liked this post. Make sure you come back to my blog!

A piece of Paradise
This week for reading, WALT:Use clues from the text to find the hidden message (inference!
We got to choose from 6 books, Rata and the Tree, A piece of Paradise,Awarua and the Taniwha of Porirua,Fishing for Octopus,The story of Ganesha and Tautorus Bird Snare.I choose: A piece of Paradise. If you have not read this, what happens is:
The Sun god and the Rain god both say that they do not need each other to grow crops. But the sun Gods crops burn and the Rain god causes a flood which rots the crops. So in the end both of the gods need each other to plant crops. We had to come up with what we thought the moral of the story is. A moral is a lesson. I think the moral of the story is you cannot do everything your own, sometimes you need other people to help you.You need to work together. This was really fun to do and this is the longest animation I have ever made.
P.S If you cant read the slides you may have to go back. I could not add more slides because it was lagging. ENJOY!
Have you ever planted any crops? If you have comment what you planted and if it turned out well. Please give me some feedback on what I could do next time. I love hearing feedback! Thanks for reading!

Whats the matter?
Today and Monday I made my create task. I had to make a comic or animation on what I think would happen next in the story I read which was "Whats The Matter? This story is about a boy who got a test model of a box.A box that made whatever you say appear. But since it was a test model you could only ask for something with 3 words.E.g.: Vanilla(1 word) Ice (2 word) cream (3 word). If you want the thing you ordered to disappear you had to say Cancel. But he starts saying things..with DOUBLE MEANINGS and things get messy….literally.This was really fun to predict and the ending was SO funny! This was my prediction:I think that the parents will come into Dans room and ground him.I also think that they will make him clean his room with his savings!I hope you enjoy this and agree with my prediction. If you dont thats fine :) !ENJOY!WALT:Use prior knowledge and context to predict what will happen next!
Do you have any other predictions? If you do comment what your prediction is.I would also really like some feedback please!I really would like some.I hope you enjoyed this post!

My Spagen!
Last week our Writing teacher read us " Where The Wild Things Are". It was very interesting. After we read the book we had to come up with an animal with 4 different animals. You could pick ANY animal you wanted.I picked a Sloth Head, Panda Body *Which looks like a penguin body :(* Pig arms and chicken feet. HER name is Splanda and she is a Spagen. The fist thing we had to do was plan. Plan what out monster would act like and look like. Then we had to make a Character Description on our animal. After we did our description, we had to go on a Google Drawing and make out animals out of pictures or we can trace out animals. After out Google Drawing we had to DRAW our animal on A3 paper. Then we had to colour and cut it out. Then Mrs Lee put our animals on the wall (Not all of them..YET!) and she is going to send us a picture of out animals. (Which has not been done....YET!). I hope you enjoy and like my monster.
WALT:Write a problem in a narrative.WALT:Write the solution in a narrative!
This is Splanda :)
Splanda was a result
A Spagen. She has the head of a sloth, the body of a panda, pig arms and chicken legs.
After Splanda was made scientists became mad and started making heaps of Spagens!
But the Spagens didn't like their home. They lived in a LAB with scientists everywhere.
So one night the Spagens ran away to a jungle. They came up with a name...Spandandia.
Now all the Spagens are safe.
Her shyness and cuteness from the panda. She is cautious from the pig and
weird feet from the chicken.
Also long nails...from the chicken!
Splanda is funny and a little scary because her pig teeth.Shes also quite chubby!
She eats bamboo, seeds, berries and veggies. Also fruit. She sleep in trees, mud and hay...
if she can find some.
She can run fast but slower than the normal human speed because her chubbiness.
She loves to roll around in mud and sleep all day . Shes quite cute when she sneezes.
She loves food and the words “Just relax Splanda”

Insect Investigation
Today and yesterday, my maths teacher Mrs Lee, challenge some of her maths groups to do a investigation on insects. But not with actual insects instead with numbers. What we had to do was:
Go on the site and figure out the insect investigation challenge. Once we figured out multi-pule ways to get the number 54 using a strategy. Then once we figured it out we made a slide show on it. But using more then one combination. This took me two days to get everything perfect. Here it is.Hope you learn some new maths.
P.S. I had to re-post this. This is NOT my most recent post.
