Numicon Sequence

Hey guys! Welcome back to Term 3!!! On Monday for maths, we were given instructions to fill out the number rod track with a sequence! A sequence is like a pattern. For example:

4,8,12 etc.

The first sequence was increasing and the numbers were:

  4, 8, 12, _,  _, 24, 28, 32, _ and _.

The second sequence is decreasing and the numbers were:

  54, 48, _, _, 30, 24, _, _, and 6

The harder one in my opinion is the decreasing sequence! If you want to figure these out you must use a rule. In mathematical language, a rule is something that repeats itself.

For example, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10. You could also skip count or find the number in between 2 of your answers. Hope you enjoy my blog post and learn some sequencing!

WALT: Make a sequence of multiples.

Do you know if there are any other strategies I could of used? If you do comment them down below! I would love if you left me some feedback after you have seen my work. I hope you guys enjoyed and had a fun holiday.
