Lockdown Maths!

Hey guys! On the last day of school for maths we were focusing on standard form and regrouping. Now that we are in lockdown, for ,maths we just continued on our standard form but this time on our Chromebooks. Standard form is one of my favourite math strategies. We had to watch 2 videos explaining regrouping standard form. I hope you enjoy my work, and if you can, before you see my answers, can you answer the question yourself?

Do you like to use standard form? If you do, why do you like using standard form.
I would love any type of feedback or just correcting my wrong answered questions, but I think their all right.

My Lockdown poetry and Anthology

Hey guys! As you all know, NZ is know in a lockdown because of Covid-19! Before we went into lockdown, for writing we were focusing on poetry and anthology. So now that we are in lockdown we are continuing with our poetry, BUT the theme for all of our poems can be based around either Covid or how we are doing and how our family is in lockdown. For a start we got to choose from a Haiku, ( a 3 lined poem, in the first line there are 5 syllables, 2nd line has 7 syllables and the last line has 5 ) or a tongue twister ( a poem with as much words starting with the same letter in your poem as possible, ex. She sells sea shells by the sea shore ).

I chose to start off with a Haiku, then I did my tongue twister. After I completed them I created a countdown poem! I will be adding in more poems as I finish my other tasks. I hope you enjoy my work!

How are you feeling about lockdown?
I would love feedback about anything on my work :)

Olympic's

Hey guys! This week for reading we have been focusing on the Olympics. As usual we get to choose book and we get some create tasks. I chose a book called, The Cindy Limpics. The book was about a girl named Cindy, her school was having their own Olympics but Cindy being her clumsy self, she breaks her leg. Luckily, the teacher creates a new type of Olympics, the Cindy Limpics, everybody had to life up one foot and limp to the finish line. Cindy won! In total I give this book a 3/5. I hope you enjoy my work and learn something new! Enjoy!

Create task 1:
Choose a Olympian and write a Olympian fact file on your chosen Olympian. Create this on a google drawing
I chose Simone Biles because I have seen her at quite a few Olympic games and I use to do gymnastics at the age of 6 just like her! I also wanted to learn more about her.

Create task 2:
Create a slideshow with 20 facts on a country that participated in the Olympics.

Can you solve my puzzle?

Hey guys! This week for maths we have been focusing on patterns and algebra. We had 4 sheets to complete. Each sheet had numbers and blank boxes. The sheet gave us about 2 or 3 numbers to look at, then we had to fill in the blanks with the next pattern. For example: 14, 18, 22, __, __, __,. The answer would be: 14,18,22,26,30,34. Then once we figured out the pattern, we wrote down the rule, the rule for the example pattern was, Rule: Add 4. When we finished the 3 sheets, for the 4th we could create our own pattern. It could increase or decrease as much as you want. I made a pattern with 3 blank spaces. Do you think you can solve my pattern? If you do, give it a go, if you dont, still try! Then comment down below what you think the  answer is and the rule. Hope you enjoy my work and solve me pattern.
0.454, 0.577, _.___, 0.832, _.___, 1.069, 1.192, _.___

Did you solve my pattern?
The hardest part was probably finishing everything in time with quality.
